Overview
Basics Co. is a branding-led studio with a sharp visual identity, and their site needed to feel like an extension of the work itself. We paired a custom WordPress theme with a Vite-powered front-end so the team gets editorial flexibility without sacrificing performance. Smooth scroll-driven animations and a modern aesthetic carry visitors through the work, services, and testimonials.

How it’s built.
Editorial flexibility from WordPress, performance from a Vite-built front-end: hashed, minimal bundles for the scroll-driven animations, served from cache in front of a modular block system.

The portfolio is the product - it has to load like it.
Design decisions
01Build tooling
Vite for the theme's front-end.
Modern bundling, code-split animation code and content-hashed assets that cache forever.
Trade-off · A build step in a WordPress theme - assets must be rebuilt before deploy.
02Blocks, not page-builder
A small set of custom blocks.
Editors keep flexibility while every block stays fast and on-brand.
Trade-off · A genuinely new layout means a new block.
